TAPU is the legal and official document that shows the ownership of property with its information.  

The General Directorate of Land Register and Cadastre (Tapu ve Kadastro Genel Müdürlüğü – TKGM) is in charge of the title deed registry and archive. Each city in Turkey has a title deed office run by TKGM.  

There are two types of TAPU in Turkey:  

Blue one 

Which is for lands and shared ownerships 

Red one 

That indicates this property is individual and freehold. There is the information about which one of bellow ownership types is for the property.  

Kat irtifakı: which says that the proprety is under construction yet. 

Kat mülkiyeti: which says that the construction finished and municipality gave this permission to go to the next step of full ownership with iskaan and residence license  

Devre mülk: which says that property ownership will be for one period of time.
